ABC Infant & Toddler Center (Ages 3 - 24 Months)
As a parent, you want the very best care for your child. You want a nurturing environment, in which your baby can feel safe enough to explore interests. You also want stimulating activities, through which your baby can learn and develop. At ABC, we are confident that we will meet your child’s needs and exceed your expectations.
Infant Program
The ABC Infant Program is designed for children who are from 3 – 12 months of age. ABC teachers create a warm and loving environment for babies to thrive in, while engaging them in activities that promote sensory development, fine and gross motor movement, receptive and expressive language, and so on. The infant day consists of one-on-one nurturing, active play, quiet play, eating, napping and diapering. There are plenty of clean and soft areas for babies to practice sitting, crawling, and eventually standing and walking. Parents receive a daily emailed progress report that includes detailed information about the child’s day, along with photos and videos of their child in action.
Every infant eats, sleeps and plays according to unique characteristics and time frames. Infants at ABC follow a “Personal Child Care Plan” which is a personalized schedule for each individual child. This allows each child to feel that the day is predictable and familiar, which in turn maximizes security, development and happiness.
Children may be enrolled for any 2, 3, or 5 Full Days per week. The program allows for a maximum of 12 infants to be c
ared for at any given time. A 3:1 (infant:adult) ratio is maintained at all times, which exceeds the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regulations (requiring a 4:1). Our infant program is run by two New York State licensed teachers, each of whom holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth-to-Two), as well as two Teacher’s Assistants.
Toddler Program
The ABC Toddler Program is designed for children who are from 12 – 24 months of age. Toddlers learn a great deal of information through their play. So at ABC they engage in activities such as story time, number concepts, cause-effect relationships, scribbling, dancing and hopping just to name a few. These basic concepts eventually evolve into readiness for reading, math, science, arts, music and sports. Toddlers at ABC have opportunities for developing their self-esteem, independence, and overall wellbeing.
The toddler day follows a predictable daily routine, because ABC teachers know that consistency promotes feelings of safety and security for young children. There are various group and individual activities, and opportunities for both active play and quiet time. Parents receive a daily emailed progress report that includes detailed information about the child’s day, along with photos and videos of their child in action.
Children may be enrolled for any 2, 3, or 5 days per week. The Full Day program is from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, while the Half Day program is either from 8:00 am – 12:30pm or 1:00 – 6:00 pm. ABC’s Toddler Program allows for a maximum of 10 toddlers to be cared for at a given time, with a 5:1 (toddler:adult) ratio. Every toddler group is run by a New York State licensed teacher, who holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth-to-Two), and one Teacher’s Assistant.
ABC Child Center (Ages 2 - 5 Years)
“Providing quality and flexible childcare since 1993”
The mission of ABC Child Center is to provide children with developmentally appropriate activities, which promote social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. We recognize and foster an active relationship with the parents of our children. It is our goal to provide flexible and high quality childcare in a multi-cultural environment.
ABC is fully licensed and approved by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene – Bureau of Child Care for 45 children between the ages of 2-5 years. ABC’s preschool is located on the 2nd floor of a new and modern building. The premises are spacious (approx. 2,000 SF), sunny and centrally air conditioned, with large play and activity areas. The building is equipped with state of the art city-tie central alarm and sprinkler systems in the event of an emergency.
Children who attend ABC’s preschool program enjoy a variety of enriching activities: arts and crafts, science, early mathematics and geometry, music and dance, dramatic play, pre-reading skills and outdoor play. Our age-appropriate activities foster a positive self-image, independence, cooperative play, self-expression and daily living skills.
