The New York City Fair Is Coming to Belmont Park in September

The New York City Fair will be held Sept. 1-4 at Belmont Park in Elmont, and feature rides, games, and kid-friendly guest appearances.

Who doesn't love a good fair in the summer? From Sept. 1-4 The New York City Fair promises just that. Taking place at Belmont Park in Elmont, the fair will have a full midway including a dozen carnival games, fair food, and rides.

The New York City Fair offers entertainment for all ages, but is particularly family-friendly with offerings such as a Kids Zone with bounce houses and slides, which is free with admission. More than 30 rides will be at the event, including bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, and a carousel. There will also be dog stunt shows three times a day and pig racing.

The New York City Fair will have several kid-friendly guests making special appearances over the weekend, including former New York Knicks guard John Starks who will be signing autographs from 1-3pm on Saturday, Sept. 2. Other special guests include Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, four Minions, and Star Wars' characters Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and Storm Troopers.

The four-day fair will include daily entertainment, such as the Bear Hollow Wood Carvers and The Fearless Flores Thrill Show (featured on America’s Got Talent). The stunt show will include motorcycle tricks inside the Globe of Death as well as high-wire motorcycle stunts.

The New York City Fair will be located in Belmont Park at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, which borders Queens County and Nassau County.

"Belmont Park is an ideal location for this event, easily accessible by car, rail, and bus from Queens, Brooklyn, and Nassau counties. We can’t wait to welcome everyone this September as we build a brand new, New York City tradition," said Dhruv Prasad of Townsquare Live Events in a press release.

The New York City Fair is put on by Townsquare Live Events, in association with North American Midway Entertainment. General admission to The New York City Fair is $5 and parking is $10. Unlimited ride wristbands are also available at the gate and online. For more information, visit thenewyorkcityfair.com
