New Swim Program Available in Stamford for All Ages

Take Me to the Water Swim School comes to Stamford to share over 30 years of swim instruction experience.

Beginning Feb. 1, Take Me to the Water will become the aquatic arm of the Stamford Athletic Club, offering classes for all ages and abilities. "Swimming is an important factor in growing up," Take Me to the Water owner Glenn Pepper says. With expert instructors who love working with children and warm 87 degree water, Pepper says their program will help students develop the swim skills needed to be confident in the water.

“We feel our choice is one that will get your child to swim faster,” Pepper says.

Children can begin attending classes as early as six-months-old with Baby And Me Classes which teach infants breath control, big arm movements and leg kicks. Take Me to the Water also offers private classes for children with hydrophobia or other physical, mental, or emotional challenges that need special attention.

Semi-private, group lessons, and adult swim lessons are also available, with class sizes averaging three students per instructor. Children ages 6-14 can participate with the Gator swim team which will fine-tune their strokes and give them the opportunity compete against other swimmers.

Enrollment is open year-round, and prices average around $35 a class. Currently, Take Me to the Water is offering an introductory rate of 50 percent off the second half of classes during the winter semester.
