Upper East Side Restaurant Now Offers Birthday Parties for Kids

Since opening on the Upper East Side, Maison Hugo, a French restaurant, has launched an option for guests to have private events for children to celebrate occasions such as birthdays or bar and bat mitzvahs.

Event options include a pastry making class or other types of cooking classes, all of which are planned by the chef, Florian Hugo, and his wife, Michelle. Kids have the opportunity to meet and work with the chef and pick and choose the menu items for their event.

The events can be held in the private dining room – the “skylight room” – which can hold up to 30 people. It also has a semi-private dining room which can seat up to 12 people and is used for family celebrations or executive lunches.

The restaurant offers a children’ s menu designed by the Hugo's 10-year-old daughter, in addition to their regular menu and is completely peanut free. The Hugo's wanted to open up a restaurant, “more focused on young families or young professionals like us who love good food and quality dining that doesn’t really break the bank," says Michelle.

Maison Hugo is located at 132 East 61st St. and reservations can be made by calling 212-832-0500 or visiting maisonhugo.com.
