Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School Launches Summer Program

Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School Launches Summer Program

In addition to the new program, there will also be a new preschool class for the upcoming school year.

The Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School is making a splash this summer by offering rising 3- and 4-year-olds and kindergarteners the opportunity to experience the same great curriculum in a new summer format.

Summer at SMNS will run from June 11-Aug. 16, and will be offered as five, two-week sessions to offer more flexibility for parents. The program will meet Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm (with the exception of holiday closings), and will also be led by experienced and professional teachers and staff.

“Over the past couple of years, many parents have inquired about adding a summer program,” said David Cohen, nursery school director. “This new summer program will not only provide consistency and structure for children currently enrolled, but will serve as a nice entry point for families who are new to SMNS.”

As part of their weekly routine, children will participate in engaging and creative art projects, outdoor water table experiments, nature walks on the Temple grounds, imaginative play on the multilevel playground, summer picnics, and much more. They will also be able to take advantage of the new outdoor STEAM block building station, as well as the new bicycles, both of which were purchased with proceeds from the school’s February Snow Ball fundraiser.

In addition to launching the summer program, SMNS has also added a second full-day, mixed-age preschool class for the 2019-2020 school year to accommodate the school’s growth.

“Our new scheduling options make SMNS available to so many more families,” said Eileen Robin, Temple Sholom’s executive director. “We have always had a part-day program for 2's, 3's and 4's, but now we have expanded full-day schedules for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We are all thrilled to see our education wing bustling with happy children throughout the entire school day.”
