Located at Hofstra University, The Reading/Writing Learning Clinic at the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center is dedicated to providing literacy support to children and youth in a safe and supportive environment. Each class–taught by New York state-certified teachers-incorporates students’ experiences with literacy in innovative ways to help them develop their strengths as readers and writers. Personalized consultations offer parents advice about how to support their child’s literacy growth. Individual or small group instruction is available. Evaluations are conducted by appointment only.

Westbrook Nature School offers a nature-based curriculum on a six-acre property featuring trails, streams, meadows, an organic garden, and natural playscapes. Programs include Parent-Child Classes (from birth to age 3), Mixed-Age Kindergarten (ages 3-6), adult workshops, playdays, and seasonal events.
