Hair Fairies opened a new location in Fairfield, its seventh nationwide, on March 1. Founded in 1999, Hair Fairies is a kid-friendly hair salon that specializes in the removal of head lice and nits and promises 100-percent effectiveness.

Hair Fairies president and CEO Maria Botham says that “on average people spend anywhere from $100-$300 on lice removal before they come to Hair Fairies.” The combination of highly trained technicians, patented combs, and nontoxic shampoos and rinses has become known as the “Hair Fairies difference.”

When a family walks in the door, each person is first evaluated to see if they have head lice. If they do, the next step is to remove them. The technicians start by manually removing the lice from the hair. Then they take a special comb and remove any remaining lice. The final step is the application of their nontoxic treatment. Hair Fairies offers a variety of products from combs to shampoos that help to prevent head lice in the case of a school breakout. Hair Fairies also offers free school screenings, and is reimbursed by most insurance companies.

“It’s a safe solution for frantic parents,” Botham says. “It’s reliable, consistent…and the better choice to remove head lice.”
