Celebrate Black History Month and Woman's History Month, at theFreedom Dancing Exhibition, which runs through March 29 at the Barnum Museum. The exhibit features the work of Bridgeport resident Shanna Melton, a visual artist, poet and community organizer. Melton’s imagery reflects an intimate response to the African diaspora. $7, seniors and college students $5, children 4-17 $4, FREE under 4. Open Monday-Saturday 10am-4:30pm, Sunday noon-4:30pm. Come see TaikoProject, an ensemble of taiko drummers formed in 2000 to preserve and celebrate the tradition of taiko drumming in America. TaikoProject was featured in the national Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial ad campaign in 2005 and is the only American taiko group to win first place in the prestigious Tokyo International Taiko Contest. Think of it as the taiko version of Stomp and Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk. $37.
